TO:JOHN MADDY-GREATER HORIZONS

Thank you so much for "Thee Seminar". It was great !! I had a board meeting with a local church last night and was able to integrate some things I learned yesterday into my presentation. It is amazing how well asking questions works, isn't it?

The main thing that I did that was different from past presentations was ask questions. To my delight, people were responding with an affirmative headshake. (Yes) This bid was very technical and complex. It was much easier to keep their interest when I asked questions. It did involve the people more in the process. This was the most fun I have ever had in making a presentation.

A competitor was also at the meeting and gave his presentation ahead of me. The people on the board (about 25) appeared to me to be "zoned-out" on technical information so I skipped the technical part and explained some very practical features and their advantages and benefits. My bid was also about 25% higher(and much better in my humble professional opinion)-Here's the best part, I did get the bid. (To the tune of $45,000)

Yes, there was a lot of ground work done before this presentation was made. I have been working with this church for about I 1/2 years. But I feel confident a few simple things that I changed in my presentation that I learned from the seminar helped "blow away the competition" and win the bid for Holze Music Company. I also changed my proposal wording from "contract" to again and please feel free to pass this letter on to others.
